I find using Bic pens on this kind of paper and for these types of drawings, quick sketches, often times messy and rushed because of the uncertainty of time of the “encounter” on the subway, is more challenging if I use the utensil in the same way as the Rapidograph pens, pencils, or Japanese brush pens, or any other media, in the sense that flow is different.
This flow is different from that flow and you can’t expect the song to remain the same…
As I went over lines a few times to darken them, otherwise the ink has a gray quality which is an easy task with Rapidograph pens, I wondered whether the drawing looked forced and did not retain the usual spontaneity and fluidity of my other one-line drawings or few-line drawings.
I will come up with a name for this method, as this idea was proposed by a special lady named Esther.
The one-line or few-line style is seen in the fifth drawing of “Man doing crossword”.

In the AM, “Map Reading Woman”, from la France

R Train

This is 2nd drawing in the journal.

Sometimes it looks a little gray…the paper in this journal is not as dense as the Moleskine watercolour paper so you may see drawings bleed from one to another and tooneandanother and so on and so forth like frothy froth…time to say goodnight.

Green Sharpie, looks black on the red material cover, 1st drawing, on the journal.

Drawn on Cross-town M79 Bus heading West in the PM.

Drawing based on the removable front insert of the journal, and looks like my friend Sir Weston who is a kickass drummer in a kickass band named Teachers’ Sons, so check out their new record available for purchase on a limited run on vinyl.

The record is available for purchase May 2012 on limited edition (200) white vinyl with free download card and is also available for instant download via their Bandcamp site.

Teachers’ Sons also have a Soundcloud site.

The beautiful photograph is the cover of the new Teachers’ Sons album.

Forty-first drawing in the Moleskine

2nd Floor during “The Consulate General of Poland in New York presents: “Karol Szymanowski and His Legacy” - a recital by Anna Kijanowska, piano and Sharon Roffman, violin in Commemoration of the 130th Anniversary of the Composer’s Birth.”
The decorations in The Consulate are beautiful and intricate.  Baroque.
And the ladies performing at the concert were lovely and talented, especially in their interpretations of Karol Szymanowski’s compositions.
Drawings of Anna Kijanowska and Sharon Roffman to follow shortly.
This is the last drawing I drew in the Moleskine.  More to follow from new sketchbook.
